Gravity Pallet Racking

Gravity Pallet Racking, also called Pallet Flow Racking, is a high-density storage system where pallets move automatically along inclined roller or wheel tracks using gravity.

Pallets are loaded from one side of the rack and travel toward the picking/unloading side. Braking rollers or speed controllers regulate their movement. It is commonly configured as FIFO (First-In, First-Out), making it particularly suitable for products with expiry dates or high inventory turnover.

  • high storage density
  • reduced forklift travel
  • automatic stock rotation
  • faster loading/unloading
  • efficient use of warehouse floor space

Typical applications include food and beverage, FMCG, cold storage, manufacturing, distribution centers, and other high-throughput warehouse operations.Compared with conventional selective pallet racking, gravity pallet racking generally requires a higher initial investment and careful engineering of pallet weights, track inclination, braking, and pallet quality, but it can significantly improve throughput and space utilization in the right application.
